Which Lightweight Double Pushchair Should You Buy?
It's easy to move around with a lightweight double pushchair, especially if you have kids with different age groups. They are easy to fold, steer and transport up and down steps.

Side-by-side pushchairs that are lightweight aren't 100% foolproof, however- if your children are of the same age or at the same stage, they might be fighting over who gets to ride in which seat. And if they're different heights, a tandem style might be better for them as it lets them face each other.
Tandem
While side-byside models are more suitable for siblings with similar ages, tandem lightweight double strollers have their own appeal. Some can fit a larger car seat and others have reversible seats. Others have an extra carrycot or a convertible seat in the middle. They tend to be more spacious and simple to move into and out of, although their baskets tend to be smaller than those of single buggies. They often have larger canopy with windows that peek out and padded leg cushions.

However, the process to attach and remove the carrycot is simple and quick.
Tandem lightweight double pushchairs will generally make more precise turns than side-by-side models, however they are more difficult to drive on uneven surfaces and curbs. They can also be slower to accelerate and heavier to move. This puts strain on your back.
Another option is a convertible double buggy that starts out as an individual and then you can add adapters to make it into a double. They can include a second seat, carrycot or both in front. The children can sit together. Some of them also have the option of incorporating buggy boards, which could help older children keep up with younger siblings.

These strollers aren't easy to maneuver around supermarkets with narrow aisles and they may struggle to carry a lot. It's easier to turn around even on the smallest of curving paths however, even this can be a challenge. Some are also more easy to turn than others, with the Thule Urban Glide 2 Double and Baby Trend Sit N' Stand Double, for instance.
Convertible
Convertible double pushchairs are ideal because they can be adjusted to the changing needs of the family. Often, they start as single buggies, and include adapters that permit you to include a second child's seat or carrycot, or (in some instances) a car-seat to the frame. Some are able to be converted to a single one when your child's older age begins to walk or wants to ride a buggyboard.

Parents also admired that it accommodates infant carriers and car seats from various brands. This includes those that aren't normally compatible with other double buggies.
